II. Purposes and Legal Basis of Processing
- Performance of your order (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — including submitting your registration application to BAZG (via.admin.ch) and processing payment;
- Compliance with our legal obligations, e.g. invoicing and tax records (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR);
- Our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), including fraud prevention, quality monitoring, and handling disputes or chargebacks — for which we retain a log of your consent (see § VIII below);
- Consent-based processing (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), where applicable, such as optional marketing communications.
III. Recipients of Data
- The Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG/FOCBS) — the vignette-issuing authority, to whom your licence plate and registration data are submitted;
- Stripe and other payment processors, to the extent necessary to process your payment;
- Hosting providers, and legal or accounting service providers acting on our behalf.
IV. Retention Period
Personal data is retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above, and for up to 6 years thereafter where required by law or our legitimate interests.
V. Your Rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to processing. Contact us at support@vignetteexpress.com to exercise any of these rights.
VI. Withdrawal of Consent
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
VII. Right to Lodge a Complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority, or with the Polish supervisory authority: Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych (UODO).
VIII. Consent Log and Evidence Retention
To document your informed consent and to protect our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), we record and retain a log of the consent checkboxes you select during checkout, together with the date, time, and IP address of your order. This log is kept for up to 12 months and may be used as evidence in the event of a dispute, chargeback, or regulatory inquiry.
IX. Transfers Outside the EEA
Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, this is done on the basis of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
X. Providing Your Data
Providing your personal data is voluntary but necessary to place and complete your order. Without it, we cannot register your vignette with BAZG.
